A little ray of sunshine

While the rest of the republic was shrouded in grey clouds, rain AND SNOW in some parts, we had some rare sunny spell yesterday. It was wonderful to work outside and get the high bed of strawberries ready.
The dogs enjoyed lolling around in the sun and the other animals had a blast as well. The ducks even helped getting rid of some creepy crawlies in the strawberry beds.They are still shy but have realized that - apart from the occasional chase from Lulu or Chandini - they are safe.

I wanted to erect the greenhouse today but it looks as if we are getting rain today. So I guess I will prime the walls in my sewing/guest room. But first things first ... feeding the ducks and chicks and our guinea pigs :)

Today was a warm, sunny day and our ducks left their pen for the first time to conquer the garden.









They are sooo funny.

Stillstand of winter

We are enjoying the quiet life before garden life will start again. Every night I fill my little garden notebook with tips and notes of what we have to do in a few weeks' time.
The snow has nearly gone now. Last week our world still looked like this:


But now everything is more brown and very, very wet.

The dogs have been digging and hunting for critters under the snow ...


and getting wet.
